ASW-1420 OS/2 SCSI Driver for the AHA-154x
SCSI014X.SYS
2/1/90

SCSI014x.SYS is a version of Microsoft's DISK01.SYS modified to support
up to two SCSI drives along with the normal AT controller support. An
Adaptec OS/2 SCSI manager is linked into the driver to support the AHA-154x.
The driver supports the OS/2 1.2 high performance file system as well as
booting from a SCSI device. Any configuration supported by the AHA-154x
BIOS is supported by SCSI014x.SYS. The Lan Manager 2.0 driver extensions
are not yet supported in this version.

This driver is intended for eventual inclusion in an OEM's BASEDD01.SYS
driver. It can, however, be installed as DISK01.SYS on the installation
diskette with a little work. Basically, there is no room for a DISK01.SYS
driver on the OS/2 1.2 installation diskette. If several unneeded files,
8514*.* in many cases, are truncated to a length of several bytes there
is enough room to copy SCSI014x.SYS to an installation diskette as DISK01.SYS.
The installation will proceed normally with this modified installation
diskette.

                                 NOTE
Removing files from installation diskette to make room
will not work as the installation will fail when preparing
to copy all files to the fixed disk.

Therefore, to install the OS/2 1.2 SCSI driver, do the following:

     1. Create space on the OS/2 1.2 installation disk as described above.
     2. Rename SCSI014x.SYS to DISK01.SYS.
     3. Copy the new DISK01.SYS to the OS/2 1.2 installation disk.
     4. Install OS/2 completely.
     5. Reboot OS/2 from the floppy drive.
     6. Change to the C: drive and copy DISK01.SYS to the root directory
         of the C: drive.
     7. Reboot from the C: drive.
